About Sara Hamdan
Sara Hamdan is an Arab-American journalist and author with a multinational background, having grown up in Greece and currently residing in Dubai. She holds a B.S. in Finance from UC Berkeley (completed in three years with honors) and an M.S. from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. Her career began at Motivate Publishing where she served as Deputy Editor of VIVA Magazine and Editor of Dubai Magazine. She later became the main business, education, and culture contributor for The International New York Times for six years. Hamdan subsequently led as Editor-in-Chief of Think with Google MENA for six years, followed by a role as Managing Editor at Protocol Labs. A Netflix short story award winner and Emirates Literature Foundation Fellow, she achieved regional recognition through a landmark two-book deal with US publisher Holt for her debut novel 'What Will People Think?' - the biggest contemporary fiction deal from a female author in MENA history.
