Olaya Argüeso Pérez

Olaya Argüeso Pérez is a Spanish investigative journalist with over two decades of international experience, currently working as a freelance journalist and trainer specializing in AI's societal impact. She began her career reporting on business and finance for Spain's largest radio network Cadena SER for more than ten years. After completing Columbia University's Lede Program in data journalism, she joined Germany's non-profit newsroom CORRECTIV in 2018. There, she contributed to exposing major tax frauds like the CumEx Files and Grand Theft Europe, later becoming Editor-in-Chief in 2019. During her tenure, she led CORRECTIV.Europe – a pioneering network of 270+ journalists across Europe – and was named Germany's 'Editorial Team of the Year' in 2021. She left CORRECTIV in September 2024 and now focuses on cross-border investigations while training journalists in data techniques. Her recent work includes authoring investigative guides for Tactical Tech's Exposing the Invisible project, such as using European air pollution data to hold corporations accountable.
