McKenzie Beard is an award-winning journalist currently serving as a wellness reporter for the New York Post, covering health, fitness, diet, and wellness trends. A proud graduate of American University, she earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism, with a focus on investigative journalism and public affairs. Her career began at KBOO Community Radio in Portland, Oregon, where she covered reproductive rights and local extremists. She later contributed to Pulitzer Prize-winning investigations like The Washington Post’s 'The Attack' series on the January 6 insurrection. Beard spent three years covering health policy for The Health 202 newsletter at The Washington Post and has written for Teen Vogue, Voice of America, and D.C. Witness on topics ranging from police presence in schools to criminal justice reform.
