Maria Godoy joined NPR in 2003 as a digital news editor and has since held leadership roles in science, health, and food coverage. She led NPR's food vertical *The Salt* to multiple awards including 2018 James Beard Publication of the Year. Her investigative reporting teams have won two Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Silver Batons and a Dart Award for trauma reporting. A 2008 Poynter Institute Ethics Fellow, she now co-hosts NPR's *Life Kit* podcast.
