Julia Boorstin

Julia Boorstin is CNBC's Senior Media & Tech Correspondent based in Los Angeles, where she has reported since 2007. A Princeton University graduate (B.A. in History, honors) and former editor of The Daily Princetonian, she began her career at Fortune Magazine in 2000, covering media and retail. Joining CNBC in 2006, she pioneered coverage of tech-media convergence and created the influential annual CNBC Disruptor 50 list in 2013, identifying transformative private companies. Her investigative reporting includes a viral 2023 interview with Twitter/X CEO Linda Yaccarino challenging advertiser exodus metrics. Boorstin authored the 2022 bestseller *When Women Lead*, analyzing 60+ female executives' leadership strategies through pandemic-era challenges. She leads CNBC's 'Closing the Gap' initiative on gender equity and reported the documentary *Stay Tuned...The Future of TV*. Recognized in TJFR's '30 Under 30' three times (2003-2006), she previously worked in Vice President Al Gore's domestic policy office.
