Emma Slee

Emma Slee is a seasoned journalist with over 17 years of experience, currently serving as Senior Editor for Reach plc’s Devon and Cornwall titles including Devon Live and Cornwall Live. She began her career as a trainee reporter at the Cornish and Devon Post Series before joining Northcliffe Media in 2000. Her roles have included senior reporter, deputy news editor, and content editor across regional publications like the North Devon Journal, Exeter Express and Echo, and Derby Telegraph. She became Head of Content at the Western Gazette in 2008 and later Editor, focusing on enhancing editorial and commercial performance. In 2021, she transitioned to her current role overseeing Reach’s regional strategy in Devon and Cornwall. Notably, she led Devon Live’s ‘Shatter the Silence’ campaign in 2023, addressing suicide prevention through personal storytelling and community engagement. Her approach combines investigative rigor with compassionate narrative, particularly in mental health coverage.
