Diane MacEdo

Diane Macedo is a three-time Emmy Award-winning journalist who currently anchors ABC News Live First and serves as a breaking news anchor and correspondent for ABC News. Born and raised in Mineola, New York, to Portuguese immigrant parents, she graduated from Boston College with a double major in communications and political science. Macedo began her journalism career at Fox News Radio as a guest booker before advancing to news editor and reporter for FoxNews.com and on-air broadcaster for Fox Business Network. She later worked as a weekend morning anchor for WCBS-TV in New York before joining ABC News in 2016. Known for her versatility, Macedo frequently fills in as anchor on Good Morning America and has led network special reports on major breaking news events including the 2020 presidential election, Capitol attack, Las Vegas mass shooting, and Hurricane coverage.
