David Geale

David Geale is a seasoned financial regulator with over 20 years of experience at the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and its predecessor, the Financial Services Authority (FSA). Currently serving as Executive Director for Payments and Digital Finance at the FCA and Managing Director of the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR), he leads critical initiatives including the National Payments Vision and the merger of PSR into FCA. His career highlights include shaping cryptoasset regulations, reforming mortgage markets, and implementing the Retail Distribution Review. Geale previously held roles as Director of Retail Banking and Director of Policy, where he oversaw Brexit-related financial reforms, open banking initiatives, and the FCA's Innovation Hub.
