Chris Hughes

Chris Hughes is a British tabloid journalist and author who has served as the Daily Mirror's security correspondent since 1994, specializing in conflict-zone reporting. With a career spanning over three decades, he's best known for his frontline coverage of Middle Eastern conflicts, including being the first Western reporter to enter Iraq after 9/11 and the first journalist to access Saddam Hussein's bunker. His notable assignments include embedded reporting with UK/US forces in Afghanistan and Iraq, coverage of the Mosul liberation from ISIS, and exclusive reporting on North Korea's Kim Jong-un. Hughes documented his experiences in the memoir *Road Trip to Hell* and co-authored *Attack State Red* about British military operations. Awarded Specialist Journalist of the Year in 2013, he continues to report on global security issues while serving as Defence and Security Editor at the Daily Mirror.
