Beryl Ann 'Bel' Mooney (born 8 October 1946) is an English journalist and broadcaster with a career spanning over five decades. Currently writing a weekly advice column for the Daily Mail since 2007, she previously held columnist positions at The Times (2005-2007), Daily Mirror, and The Sunday Times. Mooney began her journalism career in 1970 at the groundbreaking NOVA magazine, later contributing to nearly every major UK national newspaper except The Sun and Daily Star. Her broadcasting work includes the award-winning Radio 4 series 'Devout Sceptics,' which explored spiritual perspectives across society. A prolific author, she's written over 30 books including children's literature and novels, while co-founding the Stillbirth Society (now Sands). Mooney graduated with first-class honors in English from University College London (1969) and became a UCL Fellow in 1994.
