Anne Hedges

Anne Hedges is a seasoned environmental advocate and journalist with a career spanning over three decades at the Montana Environmental Information Center (MEIC), where she serves as Executive Director. Since joining MEIC in 1993, she has focused on air pollution, climate policy, energy transition, and enhancing public participation in environmental decision-making. Hedges holds a B.S. in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning from UC Davis and a Master's of Environmental Law from Vermont Law School. Her notable achievements include successful legislative campaigns for clean energy adoption and public health protections, recognized through awards like the NW Energy Coalition’s Headwaters Award and Montana Preservation Alliance’s Outstanding Preservation Leadership award. While not affiliated with The Arizona Republic (which employs climate reporter Joan Meiners), Hedges frequently contributes to environmental journalism through conference panels like the 2025 Society of Environmental Journalists gathering in Arizona.
