About Amanda Jennings
Amanda Jennings is a British novelist and former BBC researcher who transitioned to full-time writing while raising her children. Born in London in 1973 and raised in Berkshire, she initially studied architecture at Cambridge University before switching to History of Art. After university, she co-founded a copywriting business and later worked as a BBC researcher. Her writing career began in earnest when she left the BBC to raise her children, during which time she wrote her debut novel *Sworn Secret* (2012). This psychological thriller became a #4 UK Kindle bestseller and reached #1 in Italy. Subsequent novels include *The Judas Scar* (2014), optioned for film/TV adaptation; *In Her Wake* (2016), a WHSmith Fresh Talent pick; and her Cornwall-set trilogy (*The Cliff House*, *The Storm*, *The Haven*). Her seventh novel, *Beautiful People*, was published in November 2024. Jennings regularly participates in literary events, judges writing competitions, and appears on BBC Berkshire's Book Club. She lives near Henley-on-Thames with her family.
