Her career began at FM 96.5 News/Talk WDBO in Orlando, where she covered high-profile cases including the Casey Anthony murder trial and Trayvon Martin's death. Three months post-graduation, she joined NBC affiliate WMGT-TV in Macon, Georgia, reporting on significant local stories like the Pamela Moss murder trial, police-involved shootings, and government consolidation. By 2015, she advanced from reporter to evening anchor at WMGT. In November 2015, Castro returned to Florida as a reporter and anchor for WKMG-TV (News 6) in Orlando, where she continues to cover breaking news and community issues.
